Small-batch ABS vacuum-casting and custom silicone-mold prototype requests support custom color, size and shape. This non-CNC prototype direction has a one-piece minimum, with process checks and final inspection offered for the work.
Specify shape, color and texture as one prototype
Identify the geometry the prototype must represent and the dimensions that determine its acceptance. Painting, electroplating and texture effects are finish directions to discuss for the actual material. Include the custom color and treated areas so appearance requirements describe the same part as the dimensional definition.
Work from a design file or a sample
Inputs can include Pro/E, SolidWorks, Unigraphics, Catia and AutoCAD designs, together with IGS, STP, STL and X-T geometry. Two-dimensional PDF/CAD, three-dimensional IGES/STEP or a sample can also frame the request. Identify the controlling geometry and the details that must carry through to the finished prototype.
Allocate the selected plastic and any additional work
The broader plastic menu includes ABS, PC, PVC, PA, PP, PPS, PMMA, POM, PEEK, PEI and PTFE. Agree the actual material and appropriate process for the requested item. Define the scope of any secondary or micro-feature work separately, together with the silicone-mold and prototype items required for the project.
Connect process checks to final acceptance
The dimensional tolerance direction is 0.01–0.1 mm, with its relevant features and inspection basis to be agreed. Process checks and final inspection should address the dimensions, appearance and material requirements that determine acceptance. Bring those criteria together with the chosen input file or sample when defining the one-piece prototype order.
