Custom Aluminum Housings for EV Electromechanical Assemblies

An EV assembly housing must locate connectors, mounts and sealing surfaces reliably. Relia reviews aluminium casting and CNC interfaces against your component drawing, while the programme defines the environmental checks and customer documentation required for approval.

RELIA · PRODUCT AND MANUFACTURING SUPPORT

Define the component and supplied scope

Relia's relevant range includes nonstandard aluminium housings and ADC12/A380 automotive parts with machining and finish options. Relia's scope keeps the component drawing and the intended electrical/mechanical interfaces together. This supports a focused housing enquiry while the customer's complete vehicle or electrical system retains its own validation and approval requirements.

02 · MATERIAL

Specify the alloy against the customer requirement

Customer specification
Identify the exact alloy, standard and supplied condition.
Material agreement
Approve the selected casting route against that requirement.

Our aluminum component references include ADC12 and A380 directions. State the exact alloy, standard and supplied condition your design requires before a material or route is accepted.

Technical notes

Review casting route, machining allowance and finish together. The source descriptions contain mixed process labels, so we confirm the actual aluminium route instead of treating a hot-chamber or lost-wax field as universally applicable. Preserve grounding and heat-transfer surfaces through coating.

MANUFACTURING ROUTE · FEATURES AND CONTROL

Form the Housing and Preserve Its Functional Surfaces

The selected aluminium route needs to suit the body walls, bosses and tool-release geometry. After casting and preparation, Relia's CNC scope establishes connector locations, fastener features and sealing or thermal-contact lands. The surface plan identifies masking where electrical contact or heat transfer depends on the exposed metal. Cleaning, dimensional inspection and any specified enclosure leakage check then follow the finished configuration. This connects the manufacturing sequence to the actual interfaces instead of assuming a coated shell already proves system performance.

04 · VALIDATION

Keep environmental checks tied to the assembly

Finished component
Select checks for locating features and sealing lands.
Relevant configuration
Define any assembly leakage or functional test basis.

Select dimensional checks for locating features and sealing lands, plus specified leakage or functional tests on the relevant configuration. The aluminium automotive reference lists ±0.02 mm and Ra3.2–6.3 fields; the project drawing must identify the surfaces and features to which limits apply.

05 · APPROVAL RECORDS

Agree the customer document package

Identify the material, dimensional, sample and customer-specific records your programme requires. Their contents and applicability should be reviewed with the enquiry rather than presumed from the application name.

06 · CHANGES

Control the move from prototype to repeat parts

Accepted prototype
Keep sample results linked to the drawing revision.
Production change
Review affected interfaces when tooling or route changes.

Keep the accepted sample and drawing revision linked. If material, tooling or route changes later, identify the interfaces and validation evidence affected before the next release.

07 · PURCHASING

Quote the accepted component package

Bring material, machining, finish and required records into one scope. Make open customer inputs visible so the quotation and approval package describe the same delivered housing.

Technical notes

Identify connectors, seals, mounting points and any thermal contact faces. Include vibration, temperature and exposure requirements supplied by the assembly design. A housing photograph cannot establish EMC performance, electrical isolation or an assembled ingress-protection rating.
