Nonstandard Stainless Hinges for Door and Window OEMs

A custom hinge must keep the leaf, frame and pivot working together. Relia reviews stainless lost-wax castings and defined machining around the mounting pattern, opening movement and finish required by your door or window design.

A custom hinge begins with the real mounting and pivot relationships.

RELIA · PRODUCT AND MANUFACTURING SUPPORT

Define the hinge and included items

Relia's hinge references include custom stainless precision casting and machining, with a 500-piece minimum on one listed item. Relia's scope review links the leaves, pivot and mounting pattern to the complete door/frame relationship. Your team can therefore define the actual running fit, finish and required functional testing before approving the hinge.

02 · INTERFACES

Match frame and leaf mounting geometry

Frame relationship
Provide hole positions, locating faces and handed geometry.
Finished leaf
Review mounting and movement against the mating frame.

Keep hole positions, locating faces and handed arrangements on the controlled drawings. The mating frame information helps us review the finished leaf beyond its outside shape.

Technical notes

Separate cast leaf shape from machined pin holes and bearing surfaces. Identify pins, bushes and fasteners included in the order. A 0.2 mm catalogue tolerance reference does not define the running fit between a hinge pin and bore or the door alignment required by your design.

MANUFACTURING ROUTE · FEATURES AND CONTROL

Form the Leaves and Establish the Pivot Alignment

The cast leaf shape needs stock and access for the controlled pin holes and contact surfaces. Relia's machining review establishes the bore relationship and the geometry that sets the pivot axis. Pin, bush and fastener inclusion are defined separately. Deburring and surface finishing must preserve the running clearance and visible finish. A first assembly checks opening range, interference and mounting position; any load or cycle trial uses the agreed door arrangement and acceptance conditions rather than an unexplained durability label.

04 · MATERIAL

Specify stainless grade and manufacturing condition

Material requirement
Specify the stainless grade and supplied condition.
Manufacturing scope
Define cast features, machining and surface treatment.

Share the exact grade, cast or machined scope and surface condition your project requires. Any alternative needs review against the intended environment and functional design.

Material and supplied condition are agreed for the defined component.

05 · ACCEPTANCE

Approve appearance and function on clear criteria

Check pivot alignment, hole positions, opening clearance and finish. If cycle life or load testing is required, agree the assembly, load, cycles and failure criteria. These conditions provide a meaningful approval basis instead of an unsupported universal durability claim.

06 · REPEAT SUPPLY

Keep similar hinge variants distinct

Variant identity
Separate sizes, handed parts and mounting patterns.
Repeat reference
Retain accepted samples and their drawing revisions.

Retain separate drawing identities for different sizes, handed parts and mounting patterns. Keep accepted samples and deviations linked to the relevant revision.

Each variant retains its own approved interface definition.

07 · ORDER CONTROL

Release a complete hinge-component package

The quotation should identify the material, operations, finish and included parts. Keep required records and unresolved mating inputs visible until the scope is agreed.

Technical notes

Define leaf thickness, hole pattern, pivot axis, opening range and door/frame relationship. Include the intended load and operating environment. The hinge's usable motion depends on the axis position and clearance, not simply on matching the leaf outline.
