Define a custom aluminum ring through its geometry, selected alloy and anodized surface. This OEM/ODM service combines casting, machining when needed and surface treatment, allowing the enquiry to address both the ring form and the finished appearance.
1. Establish the ring geometry before the machining route
A ring drawing should make the inner and outer profiles, thickness and any mating surfaces clear. These details help distinguish the shape required from casting and the areas for which additional machining is requested. CNC work can be considered where the design needs it, while the dimensional acceptance criteria remain tied to the particular ring.
Use a 2D PDF or CAD drawing, or a 3D IGES or STEP model, to communicate the shape. Keep the dimensions and any required interfaces associated with the same drawing revision so the custom part has one clear geometric definition.
2. Pair the selected alloy with the surface treatment
Aluminum alloy is the material direction for the anodized ring, and zinc alloy is another material choice within the broader custom casting service. Specify which alloy is required for the part you are commissioning. Discuss the finishing route with that selection, keeping an anodized aluminum request distinct from a request for a zinc alloy component.
- Define the alloy and the surfaces to receive treatment.
- Identify the requested color and the appearance to be agreed.
- Relate the finish to the ring's mating areas and dimensional requirements.
3. Set the size and color for the custom part
Dimensions and colors are customized for this OEM/ODM work. The ring enquiry can therefore begin with the intended geometry and color rather than an assumed standard size. Bring those choices together with the optional machining and treatment requirements, and agree the final dimensional tolerances before manufacture.
