Custom aluminum casting brings the alloy, component shape, machining and final surface into one manufacturing brief. This OEM/ODM offering covers cast parts with machining when needed and a choice of surface treatments, making the required finished condition central to the inquiry.
Build the part around its alloy choice
ADC12 and A380 are aluminum alloy choices for the custom casting project. Zamak 3/5 zinc alloys are also available for material selection, so identify which alloy the component requires before comparing process proposals. Keep the material designation tied to the particular part rather than assuming all named alloys describe one configuration.
Use CNC machining where the drawing calls for it
The production sequence combines casting, optional machining and surface treatment. CNC precision machining belongs in the scope where the component needs it; a casting inquiry need not imply machining on every surface. Distinguishing cast geometry from areas requiring further work gives the quotation a clearer relationship to the intended finished part.
Make the surface treatment part of the design brief
Sandblasting, powder coating, painting and anodizing provide different finishing choices within the offering. Choose the treatment for the selected material and the required final appearance, and identify any surfaces whose acceptance depends on that finish. The useful comparison is the complete alloy-and-finish proposal for the component.
Define the casting and mould-work scope
Drawings can be prepared as 2D PDF/CAD or 3D IGES/STEP files. State whether the project covers cast components, CNC work, finishing or mould services, and agree how ISO 2768 - MK applies to the drawing. The specified 100% inspection provides a quality-control basis, while the final acceptance criteria should follow the agreed component requirements.
