OEM steel precision components use lost-wax investment casting with CNC machining. Dimensions are defined by the drawing. Select the steel grade and component requirements before agreeing the treatment and accepted cast and machined geometry.
Steel drawing and governing document
Identify the actual component, drawing revision and working conditions. Define the dimensions and working details needed for its use. ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS are standard-system references. Agree the governing document and grade with the drawing's material and dimensional acceptance.
CNC and process allocation
Machining is supported by 50+ machining centers and 80+ CNC machines. Identify the details requiring the selected CNC operations and the accepted surface condition. Shot blasting and assembly are additional process directions. Define the treated areas and assembly scope for the actual component.
Two-furnace quench and temper
The heat-treatment direction is quenching and tempering through two mesh-belt furnaces. Agree the treatment specification with the drawing's accepted material and finished-dimension requirements. The selected process needs to refer to the actual steel and working conditions.
Drawing-related checks and documents
Use the drawing to define which characteristics are checked by MT, UT, RT or CMM, together with the 100% visual and 100% gauge inspection requirements. Agree the methods, coverage and criteria for the selected part. Confirm the IATF16949 and ISO14001 documents applicable to the steel-part service and its accepted manufacturing scope.
