Custom steel-part enquiries include 42CrMo, 4140, C45, 25CrMo4 and 3Cr13 grade directions. Select the actual material to the customer's requirement rather than treating the designations as interchangeable. Lost wax/investment casting is the process direction, with any lost-foam enquiry requiring the actual route to be agreed for the component.

Select the grade and component route

Use the part drawing to identify the required geometry and grade. Agree the casting process for that component, together with any machining and polishing work needed for its finished condition. Keep those decisions connected so the enquiry describes one actual manufacturing request.

Grade directions
42CrMo, 4140, C45, 25CrMo4 and 3Cr13, with the actual selection to agree.
Surface directions
Zinc plating, plating and powder coating to customer requirements.

Allocate the CT4-9 casting requirement

CT4-9 is the casting-tolerance reference. Define the drawing dimensions and process scope to which that class requirement applies, then identify the finished criteria for any further machining or polishing. Choose the actual surface treatment and its acceptance for the selected steel and component use.

Agree the full-inspection criteria

Strictly 100% inspection is offered for these customized steel castings. Specify the characteristics checked and the acceptance required for the chosen grade, cast geometry and finished condition. Provide those requirements with the drawing, actual route and surface criteria to establish the OEM/ODM work and the acceptance expected for the completed component.
