Nonstandard construction accessories have paired-use wire-rope-lock directions in ductile/nodular-iron investment and lost-wax casting. Other material directions include iron, steel and gray iron. Define the actual paired component and mating geometry for the request, with machining or spray painting as surface-work directions.

Set the paired geometry and material condition

Select the actual iron or steel grade and establish the component geometry required for the wire-rope-lock application. Identify the mating requirements of the paired-use arrangement and the dimensional and shape accuracy needed for acceptance. Keep the selected material and geometry together when defining the construction accessory to be supplied.

Select heat treatment and surface work

Heat-treatment choices are annealing, normalizing, quenching and tempering. Select the condition appropriate to the actual grade and intended use, then identify the machining or spray-painted areas required for the component. Material criteria cover hardness, tensile strength, elongation and impact toughness. Agree the actual requirements for those properties alongside the chosen treatment and finished geometry.

Define applicable tests and component acceptance

Inspection directions include pressure and sealing tests. Establish their applicability and test conditions for the actual accessory, together with the intended-use and dimensional acceptance criteria. Agree any qualification scope required for the selected component and review it with the material, heat-treatment and surface requirements. This keeps the test and inspection request specific to the paired wire-rope-lock construction work.
