OEM steel auto-part casting combines lost-wax investment casting with CNC machining. The service also covers quenching and tempering, shot blasting and assembly. Define the actual automobile component so that these manufacturing directions are considered against its material, geometry and intended use.

Steel grade and the automobile component

Identify the steel grade and the features that the selected auto part requires. The drawing should connect the cast form with the CNC-machined interfaces and the dimensional acceptance for the component. This makes the OEM discussion specific to the proposed part and its actual automotive function.

Heat treatment and machining resources

Quenching and tempering use two mesh-belt furnaces. Machining capability includes 50+ machining centers and 80+ CNC machines. Agree the selected heat-treatment and machining requirements for the material and component features, keeping those equipment capabilities connected to the work the particular part needs.

Shot blasting and assembly requirements

Shot blasting and assembly are available process directions. Specify the surfaces requiring the shot-blasted condition and the interfaces that the assembly work must address. Reviewing these requirements with the cast and machined geometry gives the component a defined downstream scope.

Inspection methods and coverage

MT, UT, RT and CMM are inspection methods, with 100% visual and 100% gauge inspection. Choose the methods and acceptance criteria needed for the actual material and features. Standard families include ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS; specify the applicable requirement along with the drawing tolerances and intended automotive-use acceptance for the selected OEM part.
