Custom alloy-steel precision-casting directions include investment, silica-sol and sand casting, with OEM/ODM service and machining when needed. Broader materials cover carbon cast steel, ductile/nodular iron, aluminum, copper, zinc and magnesium alloys, and grey cast iron. The selected material, component geometry and manufacturing route define the actual request.
Material family and the selected casting geometry
Identify the actual grade and the part geometry required for the intended use. Select the investment or sand-casting direction and define any applicable silica-sol scope. Agree the important cast dimensions and areas needing further machining, connecting material and process choices to the interfaces and supplied condition needed for that particular component.
Polish, sandblast, color anodizing or plating
These are the finish choices for selection according to the actual material and appearance requirement. Identify the treated areas and their condition after the selected work. Relate the dimensional and visual acceptance to the component's important interfaces, agreeing the surface requirements for the actual cast and any machined areas.
MT, UT, RT and CMM requirements
Define the inspection methods and areas appropriate to the selected part and material. Agree the required checks, measurement basis and acceptance for the actual geometry. Connect the test requirements to the cast dimensions, machining scope and surface condition, establishing the quality criteria needed for the supplied OEM/ODM component.
Applicable standards and component use
Reference families are ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF, AS and AAR. Applications include agricultural parts, engineering machinery and automobile parts. Identify the actual standard requirements and component duty within the selected request, relating those conditions to the material, route and dimensional/surface/test acceptance needed for the supplied casting.
