OEM stainless steel investment casting covers SS304 and SS316 with silica-sol and lost wax process scope. CNC machining and micro-machining services extend the component review to finished geometry, with broaching, drilling, laser machining and milling among the named operation choices.

Define the stainless casting first

Choose SS304 or SS316 against the component's material requirements and establish the geometry intended for casting. Keep that casting decision connected to the finished drawing, including the interfaces needing further machining. The selected grade and manufacturing route should form one coherent plan for the actual stainless component.

Match machining operations to the geometry

Broaching, drilling, laser machining and milling address different operation requirements within the available service scope. Identify which operations the part needs and discuss other machining services where the drawing calls for them. Define the relevant material condition and finished acceptance so that a broad operation menu becomes a specific component process.

Set acceptance for micro-geometry

Micro-machining is an available capability for parts with small feature requirements. Describe the feature sizes, critical relationships and dimensional acceptance in the drawing review, and agree how those characteristics will be inspected. The required accuracy belongs to that particular geometry and process agreement, rather than to an assumed universal micro-machining limit.

Keep the broader material choices in scope

Machining capabilities also cover brass, bronze, copper, hardened metals, aluminum, precious metals and stainless steel. These are machining material choices, separate from the SS304/SS316 casting specification. For a different material, establish its grade, condition and manufacturing route before selecting operations. Include the component's actual duty and critical interfaces when agreeing the finished inspection requirements.
