This OEM turbine body uses 304 stainless steel and a lost wax casting route for a custom industrial component. Machining can be included when required, with surface treatment to customer demand and a silver color. The part specification should connect the body geometry to the turbine assembly where it will be used.

Begin with the turbine body interfaces

Identify the mounting arrangement, internal shape and mating dimensions that define the body in your assembly. Mark any sealing faces or other interfaces requiring machining on the component drawing. Reviewing those areas together helps distinguish the casting geometry from the surfaces that need a controlled finished dimension.

Agree the material and surface acceptance

Use the 304 stainless steel requirement in the material specification and identify any material records needed for acceptance. Surface treatment is customer-defined, so describe the required condition of the exposed and mating surfaces separately. Silver describes the appearance; the requested treatment and inspection criteria should define how the finished surface will be accepted.

Turn inspection coverage into a part plan

The quality-control commitment is 100% inspection, with the characteristics and methods to be agreed for the turbine body. Connect each inspection point to a drawing dimension, surface requirement or other defined acceptance criterion. Specify which records are needed so inspection results can be reviewed against the same part revision used for manufacture.

Confirm the intended turbine operating duty

A custom body should be assessed for the actual turbine installation, including the operating temperature, pressure conditions and relevant assembly requirements. Provide those conditions during the enquiry and agree any functional acceptance testing required by the project. Material selection, body fit and operating acceptance can then be reviewed together before the casting is approved for its intended duty.
