Fully custom-made OEM casting requests include stainless-steel and carbon-steel directions using the lost-wax process. The customer's 3D drawing defines the requested size, with the minimum quantity available for negotiation as part of the actual component inquiry.
Use the 3D definition to establish the finished part
The component's geometry is the starting point for the custom casting work. Identify the finished dimensions and mating interfaces represented by the 3D drawing. Keep the intended use with that definition so the size request addresses the actual part and the arrangement in which it will be accepted.
Choose the steel and casting-tolerance requirements
Select stainless steel or carbon steel and identify the actual grade required for the component. Agree the casting tolerances and the feature limits that govern its fit. Connecting those requirements with the chosen material and geometry gives the lost-wax request a specific dimensional acceptance basis.
Define the surface and material acceptance
Specify the finished surface condition and the inspection requirements for the ordered part. Include any material or application verification the project needs. These acceptance criteria should address the same geometry and steel grade as the customer's 3D definition, making the custom component the focus of the quality discussion.
Discuss quantity within the fully custom scope
The minimum order is negotiable. Provide the required quantity together with the selected grade, component definition and acceptance requirements. This gives the OEM discussion a clear relationship between the requested casting work, the actual number of parts and the finished-item criteria to be agreed.
