ServiceSupply metal parts solution as per customer's drawings/ samples
Custom steel machinery parts combine lost wax investment casting with a choice of machining operations. Metal-parts solutions can begin from customer drawings or samples, with the material designation, casting dimensions and finished interfaces agreed for the intended machine component.
Identify the material by its governing standard
Material enquiries include steel 45, Q235, SS304, SS306, G35, G45, WCB, WCA, WCC and 4140. Select the required designation and standard, including the material condition needed for the part. Confirm labels such as SS306, G35 and G45 against that specification before approval, so the request uses the intended material rather than an assumed equivalent.
Keep casting and machined requirements distinct
CT4–8 relates to the water-glass steel-casting and sc410 scope, with its application to your selected route and drawing to be agreed. Machining can include CNC machining, lathing, milling, turning, boring and drilling. Mark the interfaces requiring these operations and set their acceptance limits separately from the relevant casting dimensions.
Define the IT7 and Ra acceptance basis
Machining capability is up to IT7, with Ra 0.8–3.2 according to customer requirements. Identify the dimensions, surface-roughness unit and measurement basis needed for the component. These details allow the tolerance and surface condition to be reviewed against the relevant machined features and the required inspection criteria.
Use the drawing or sample to agree the finished part
Passivation and polishing can be requested to match the selected material and required surface condition. Indicate the surfaces to receive treatment and the criteria for accepting their finish. When working from a sample, agree the component drawing, material and interfaces that define the supplied part so the casting, machining and finish all refer to the same approved scope.
