Develop a steel casting enquiry from the customer's 2D or 3D drawing. The service covers custom alloy steel investment/lost-wax parts, machining when needed and a surface treatment agreed for the component.
Use the drawing to define the steel part
Identify the selected steel grade and the geometry the component needs to take. Mark the casting dimensions and the features requiring a particular finished condition. A controlling drawing gives the custom request a clear shape and acceptance basis before the work scope is agreed.
Establish the ISO2768-MK acceptance scope
ISO2768-MK is the tolerance reference for the enquiry. Agree how the requirement applies to the relevant features and the governing drawing. Set the dimensional criteria and measurement acceptance needed for the actual part so the tolerance reference has a specific role in the component agreement.
Decide whether additional machining is needed
Machining is part of the service when required for the casting. Identify which features need that work and the finished dimensions they must achieve. Define the requested surface treatment alongside those requirements, with the actual treatment selected for the material and component.
Agree the small-order and inspection requirements
Small orders are accepted for the custom steel casting service. Investment-cast steel parts are offered with 100% inspection, with the relevant criteria and records to be agreed for the component. Define the order quantity, grade, drawing revision and acceptance together so the request has a consistent manufacturing and quality scope.
