ToleranceCustomer's Drawing Request
Custom ductile iron and gray iron sand casting is offered for auto machinery, with OEM/ODM service and machining enquiries. Component sizes and tolerances follow the customer's drawing. The material designation must be confirmed for the actual part so its geometry, machining requirements and acceptance criteria refer to the same agreed iron specification.
Confirm the governing material designation
For an ASTM A48 enquiry or a project requiring the 65-45-12 designation, specify the governing standard and whether ductile or gray iron is intended. Confirm the standard and grade pairing before finalizing the material requirement. Keeping the agreed designation on the drawing gives material acceptance a clear basis without assuming that the two identifiers form one validated grade description.
Separate the cast shape from machined dimensions
Sand casting provides the manufacturing route for the custom iron part, with machining service available for required dimensions. Mark the mating dimensions and identify which acceptance requirements apply after machining. Include the component's role in the auto machinery assembly and the working duty so material and dimensional selection address the intended use.
Plan inspection around material and geometry
ISO9001 certification accompanies the service, and the ISO9001 system covers a 100% inspection commitment for the ordered casting. Define the required material checks, cast and machined dimensions, inspection methods and records. Use the approved material specification and drawing revision throughout that plan. Any surface finish or particular mechanical requirement should be agreed separately for this component so the enquiry describes the actual proposed work.
