OEM and ODM metal-part enquiries include aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, hardened metals and precious-metal directions. Die casting, sand casting, investment casting and lost-foam casting are manufacturing choices for the actual component. Select the grade, drawing and route together with the required finished result.
Material-specific treatment and surfaces
Quenching and tempering, and solution and aging, are heat-treatment directions. Powder coating, zinc plating, laser engraving and sand blasting are surface choices. Select the operations for the actual material and define the areas concerned. Agree the treatment requirements and accepted dimensional, surface and appearance result for the component.
Inspection methods and coverage
Inspection includes metallographic analysis, MT, UT, RT and CMM, with 100% visual inspection and 100% gauge inspection. Keep those percentages with the visual and gauge checks when defining the enquiry. Select the other methods, coverage and acceptance criteria relevant to the requested part.
Application and drawing definition
Automotive, motorcycle, energy, medical-device and robotics parts are named applications. Identify the actual use and operating conditions. PDF and CAD are 2D drawing formats, with IGES and STEP for 3D geometry. Define the drawing revision and the dimensions and working details requiring selected operations.
Standard and certification scope
ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS are standard-system references. ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949 are certification references with applicable documents and scope to agree. Bring those requirements together with the selected grade, component drawing, route and dimensional, surface and inspection criteria for the OEM or ODM request.
