A custom pump body is selected through its material, cast geometry and relationship to the intended pump assembly. This OEM investment-casting offering identifies 316L stainless steel and a CT6 casting-tolerance designation, with the component specification customized for the project.
Define the 316L body for the intended pump
Keep the 316L material requirement associated with the pump-body drawing and the conditions in which the pump will operate. Identify the required interfaces and dimensions for the body so the inquiry describes a particular component. The material grade should be considered with those operating requirements when assessing the proposed casting.
Apply CT6 through the casting drawing
CT6 is the stated casting-tolerance designation. Agree the applicable tolerance standard and the dimensions to which that designation applies before accepting the pump-body specification. This makes the tolerance discussion specific to the casting geometry instead of assigning a universal millimetre value to every feature of the component.
Distinguish the casting from further processing
The customized specification should identify the accepted condition of the pump body and any further processing required by the project. Define which interfaces or surfaces need additional work, if any, and include the corresponding acceptance criteria in the order discussion. The finished component should be assessed against that agreed scope rather than an undefined assumption about subsequent operations.
Review pump conditions with the acceptance plan
Specify the fluid and the operating pressure and temperature required for the actual pump project. Review those conditions alongside the selected material, interfaces and casting acceptance requirements. Any CE, RoHS or management-system documentation needed for procurement should have its exact applicable scope confirmed. This gives the pump-body decision a coherent component and operating brief.
