Silica sol and lost wax investment-casting enquiries can be developed for custom hardware and agricultural, engineering-machinery or automobile parts. OEM/ODM customization includes machining when needed and a selected surface treatment. Choose the actual grade and material-specific casting route for the component before setting the work scope.
Select the casting material and route
The material directions cover steel, iron and several other alloys. Identify the actual grade and component geometry, then agree the casting arrangement for that material. Keep any machining requirements with the same component plan rather than assigning one route to every material in the menu.
- Steel and iron directions
- Alloy cast steel, carbon cast steel, ductile/nodular iron and grey cast iron.
- Other alloy directions
- Aluminum, copper, zinc and magnesium alloys.
Coordinate the finish and quality-control plan
Finish directions include polishing, sandblasting, color anodizing and plating. Choose the actual material-specific treatment and define the finished-surface acceptance. MT, UT, RT and CMM are quality-control directions; agree which methods and criteria apply to the selected component and its finished dimensions.
Identify the applicable grade document
Standard references include ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF, AS and AAR. Select the actual document and requirements for the component rather than treating the families as simultaneous compliance. Provide the drawing, chosen grade, optional machining, finish and inspection criteria to establish the OEM/ODM casting request for the intended hardware or machinery-related part.
