Lost wax investment casting and CNC machining provide a manufacturing route for steel components that need cast geometry and finished machined interfaces. Quenching, tempering, shot blasting and assembly extend the process chain; the selected steel grade and drawing determine the sequence required for your part.
Plan the steel casting and machined interfaces
Identify the steel grade, casting shape and the faces, holes or other interfaces requiring CNC work. Separate casting requirements from finished machining tolerances so that each drawing feature has a clear acceptance stage. Machining resources include 50+ machining centers and 80+ CNC machines, with operations chosen for the component geometry.
Connect heat treatment to the finished condition
Quench-and-temper capability uses two mesh belt furnaces. Specify the required heat-treated condition and how it relates to subsequent machining and assembly. Shot blasting and assembly should be defined alongside the surfaces and mating interfaces that require acceptance, rather than treated as a single finish for every steel component.
Choose inspection against the drawing
Cast steel inspection includes 100% visual examination and 100% gage checks, with MT, UT, RT and CMM in the inspection scope. Select the methods, coverage and reporting for the actual features and acceptance criteria. The presence of several methods does not replace a component inspection plan.
Identify the applicable references
ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS provide standards references for the enquiry. Name the particular specification and edition that govern the steel component. When IATF16949 or ISO14001 documentation is required, confirm the current certificate and relevant scope before incorporating it into project acceptance.
