Define a transmission casting through the gear component and interfaces it needs to provide. Custom brass/copper gear, worm-wheel and gear-ring enquiries are supported by customized dimensions, color requirements and CNC turning machining.

Identify the actual gear component and material

State whether the request concerns a gear, transmission worm wheel or gear ring. Select the required brass or copper grade and provide the geometry for that component. Connect the part definition to the intended transmission duty and the acceptance needed for its finished interfaces.

Place the turning work within the part definition

CNC turning is a machining operation available for the custom casting enquiry. Identify the areas requiring that work and the dimensions they must meet. Keep the casting geometry and the finished turning requirements on a controlling drawing so the request gives a clear definition of the component being made.

  1. Define the selected metal and component geometry.
  2. Identify the interfaces and finished dimensions to be accepted.
  3. Mark the areas requiring CNC turning.
  4. Specify the requested appearance and color.

Agree precision and appearance for the transmission request

Size, dimensions and color are customized for the component. Establish the precision and finished-condition acceptance required for the actual gear arrangement. Identify any transmission-specific criteria that need to be checked, and agree the turning and appearance scope with the same drawing and material definition used for the casting enquiry.
