Custom aluminum and stainless investment casting enquiries include lost-wax and vacuum-aluminum project scope. Broader material choices cover stainless steel, steel, brass, copper, aluminum, iron and plastic, with the manufacturing route selected for the actual component.
Match the material to the casting or manufacturing route
Technology choices include investment casting, sand casting, machining, welding and forging. Define the alloy or plastic grade and the component geometry before selecting the route; plastic is part of the broader manufacturing enquiry. Agree the actual vacuum configuration for an aluminum investment-casting project. Technical stages can cover molds, casting, deburring, machining and surface treatment, arranged for the chosen material and part.
Separate casting classes from machined interfaces
Casting tolerance is CT4–CT8, while machining tolerance is ±0.02mm. Identify which features and stages require those values, including any critical final interfaces. Machining choices comprise broaching, drilling, milling, turning, tapping and a Wire operation whose exact process needs clarification. Connect the selected operations to the approved drawing and its finished dimensional acceptance.
Select the final surface and applicable documentation
Polishing, passivation, sandblasting, zinc plating and black oxide are surface-treatment choices. Match the finish to the selected material, operating requirements and controlled areas. Standard enquiries include ISO, GB, DIN, JIS, ANSI, BSW, ASTM, ASME, BS, API and EN; identify the applicable numbers and editions. Review the relevant ISO9001:2015 and TUV certificate scope for the project. Agree the drawing, surface and inspection acceptance with that selected manufacturing plan before accepting the custom component.
