Custom stainless steel component requests can specify SS 304 or 316L and a selected surface finish. OEM/ODM work should begin with the actual component definition and agreement on the manufacturing route required for that part.

Agree the stainless component's manufacturing route

Confirm whether the component is to be investment/lost-wax cast, forged or produced through another agreed casting route. Attach that decision to the selected grade and finished geometry. The request then has a clear basis for defining the part, including the interfaces and dimensional requirements that determine its role in the intended assembly.

Connect the grade to finished interfaces

Identify whether SS 304 or 316L is required and show the dimensions that control fit. Distinguish overall form from the interfaces that establish the component's position or connection. Agree the dimensional acceptance and inspection criteria for the finished part, keeping them with the material and route definition.

Material definition
State the selected stainless grade for the component.
Finished geometry
Identify the mating dimensions and their acceptance limits.

Select the treatment for the actual surfaces

Polishing, powder coating, sandblasting, shot blasting and zinc plating are finish directions to discuss. Choose the treatment for the actual material and identify the areas covered by it. Where a treated surface also controls fit, define its finished dimensional condition alongside the appearance requirements.

Make the custom request reviewable

Bring the selected grade, manufacturing route, geometry and surface requirements together when defining the OEM/ODM work. Identify the intended assembly and the characteristics that determine acceptance. These inputs allow the component and its finish to be reviewed as one coherent manufacturing request.
