Custom precision castings in steel and stainless-steel directions combine lost-wax investment casting with CNC machining. Downstream work includes quenching and tempering, shot blasting and assembly. Select the material and required operations around the geometry and acceptance of the actual component.
Cast form and CNC-finished interfaces
Define the exact grade and the drawing dimensions that establish the part's shape and mating areas. The cast form and CNC-finished geometry should address the same component requirements. Machining resources include 60+ machining centers and 70+ CNC machines, with these two resource groups considered for the selected work.
Heat treatment, shot blasting and assembly
Heat-treatment resources include two mesh-belt furnaces for the quench-and-temper direction. Agree the treatment applicable to the chosen grade and required component condition. Shot blasting and assembly can also be included in the manufacturing scope; define the relevant surfaces, mating parts and assembly acceptance for the selected design.
Visual, gauge and other inspection directions
Visual examination and gauge checking each have 100% coverage in this custom casting scope. Further inspection directions include MT, UT, RT and CMM. Select the methods and acceptance criteria required for the component, identifying how they address the cast form, CNC-finished dimensions and any heat-treated or assembled work.
Applicable standard and operating role
Choose the component's applicable requirement from ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF or AS families. Its intended function and operating conditions should guide the grade, dimensions and acceptance to be agreed. Relating that scope to the selected treatment, finish, assembly and inspection work gives the casting inquiry a defined component and manufacturing route.
