Custom precision investment casting covers stainless steel, alloy steel and carbon steel components. Silica-sol and water-glass investment casting are process choices, with CNC, lathe, milling and drilling equipment available for the machining portion of the selected component plan.
Choose the steel and investment route together
Select the actual grade and the casting route appropriate to the geometry and requirements of the part. ASTM, DIN, ISO, BS and JIS provide standard families for the specification review. Identify the particular material and component requirements that apply, then connect them to the drawing and finished acceptance for the casting.
Define the material condition and machining sequence
Normalizing, tempering and hardening are heat-treatment choices within the service scope. Agree the required condition for the selected steel and establish how that treatment relates to subsequent machining. Identify the interfaces requiring lathe, milling or drilling work, along with the applicable CNC operations and final dimensions needed for the component.
Set the zinc-plated or mirror-polished result
Zinc plating and mirror polishing provide different surface-treatment choices. Select the finish for the actual material, geometry and intended duty, marking the areas receiving that treatment. Agree the dimensional and surface acceptance at functional interfaces so that the finish and machining plan describe one consistent completed part.
Approve the finished component requirements
Define the actual operating duty and inspection requirements for the chosen design. Keep the steel grade, casting route, treatment condition and machined interfaces connected during the approval review. The final acceptance should identify the dimensions, surfaces and records needed to assess that particular component, using the selected standard and drawing revision as its basis.
