Custom metal-part inquiries cover iron, brass, stainless steel, zinc and aluminum-alloy casting directions, with steel and copper also available within the selected manufacturing scope. Investment/lost-wax casting, sand casting, machining, welding and forging are technologies to define for the actual component.

Material and route for the selected part

Choose the exact grade and the technology required by the proposed geometry. A plastic material inquiry needs its own process assignment within the broader manufacturing discussion. Establishing the material and route together gives the component a defined starting point before its subsequent work and acceptance are agreed.

Molds, deburring and machining operations

The work can progress through molds, casting, deburring, machining and surface treatment. Machining directions include broaching, drilling, milling, turning and tapping. If a wire-based operation is required, define the actual operation and the areas it needs to address. Select these stages for the component's geometry and finished interfaces.

CT4–CT8 and ±0.02 mm references

Casting-tolerance references are CT4–CT8, while the machining-tolerance reference is ±0.02 mm. Assign the applicable requirement to the selected drawing dimensions and manufacturing work. The cast form and machined areas should have clear acceptance criteria so the two references address their own parts of the component specification.

Five surfaces for the chosen material

Finishing directions include polishing, passivation, sandblasting, zinc plating and black oxide. Identify the treatment required for the selected material and the areas it affects. Agree the finished condition alongside the component's dimensions and intended function, keeping each surface request connected to the actual work.

Applicable standard and use acceptance

Standard families include ISO, GB, DIN, JIS, ANSI, BSW, ASTM, ASME, BS, API and EN. Select the actual requirement for the component and its manufacturing scope. Define the part's operating conditions and acceptance so its grade, route, machining, finish and applicable standard can be reviewed as one coherent custom request.
