ServiceSupply metal parts solution as per customer's drawings/ samples
Custom metal parts can combine lost wax investment casting with CNC machining to meet a customer drawing or sample. The 304 stainless bearing-housing scope includes CT4–8 casting acceptance, while material selection and finished interfaces determine the machining and surface requirements for the chosen component.
Agree the material designation and design input
Material choices include steel 45, Q235, SS304, SS306, G35, G45, WCB, WCA, WCC and 4140. Identify the complete material standard and condition for the selected designation, including clarification of SS306 where it is required. Align the customer sample with the approved drawing and its critical dimensions so that geometry and material acceptance refer to one defined metal part.
Allocate acceptance for the 304 bearing housing
Apply CT4–8 to the agreed 304 stainless bearing-housing casting requirements, with separate criteria for the interfaces requiring machining. Available operations include CNC machining, lathe work, milling, turning, boring and drilling. Machining capability extends up to IT7 according to customer requirements; assign that requirement to the actual features and measurement references rather than the whole material menu.
Connect roughness and treatment to the finished component
Ra values cover 0.8–3.2, with the unit and evaluation method to be agreed for the relevant surfaces. Define the surface requirement with the selected machining operation and finished dimensional condition. Passivation and polishing are available to customer request, with the treatment chosen for the actual alloy and geometry. Review the required faces, bearing or assembly interfaces and final appearance together so that the drawing, sample and finish acceptance describe the same configuration.
