Custom steel casting requests include carbon steel investment casting and alloy-steel lost wax precision work. Electroplating, polishing and brushing are surface directions. Select the actual material and finished component requirements, including clarification of any requested Electropol treatment.
Steel material and component drawing
Identify the supplied carbon-steel or alloy-steel grade for the part concerned. Define its geometry, dimensional limits and working duty on the actual component drawing. These requirements establish the precision needed for that custom casting.
Choosing the finished surface
Select electroplating, polishing or brushing with the areas and final condition required. Clarify the complete process intended by Electropol before choosing that direction. Agree how the selected finish will be assessed against the material and component requirements.
Custom-part acceptance
Set the inspected characteristics, methods and records needed for the actual drawing and finished condition. Confirm quantity and manufacturing responsibility with those acceptance requirements. Any additional machining or heat-treatment request needs its own agreed scope.
