Custom precision casting combines silica sol investment casting with machining and CNC finishing. Alloy steel is the primary enquiry, with carbon steel, stainless steel and high-manganese steel also available as material families. The service supports a component defined by its drawing, selected grade and required finished condition.
Choose a specific steel designation
Grade enquiries include AISI 1040, 1045, 1050, 4140, 4340 and 8620. Select the designation and governing material standard for the actual component rather than relying only on the broad alloy-steel description. Keeping that choice visible alongside the geometry helps focus the casting enquiry on the required part. Material selection and any project-specific acceptance requirements should refer to the same drawing revision.
Separate cast dimensions from CNC work
The casting tolerance reference is CT5-CT7, and CNC finishing provides a further machining option. Identify dimensions evaluated in the cast condition and those requiring CNC work so the class is applied at the appropriate stage. Sand blasting, electropolishing and powder coating are finish choices. The chosen treatment and any surfaces requiring machining should be considered together for the selected steel.
Carry the drawing and logo into acceptance
PDF, IGS and STP files can support the component enquiry. A customized logo is acceptable, so its position and appearance can be included with the dimensional information when marking is required. Professional inspection accompanies the service, with the actual method and acceptance criteria agreed for the component. A clear distinction between casting class, CNC dimensions, treated surfaces and logo detail makes the enquiry more useful for reviewing the complete finished part.
