Custom steel-part enquiries include alloy steel and stainless steel 304, 316 and 316L directions. Investment casting is offered with lost wax as a process option. Choose the actual grade and part geometry before defining the casting and finished machining requirements.

Separate casting and machining acceptance

CT4-8 is the casting-tolerance reference for steel casting parts. The machining reference is up to IT7, with Ra0.8-3.2 according to customer requirements and an agreed measurement basis. Allocate the controlled dimensions to the appropriate stage so casting and machining criteria remain distinct for the actual component.

Choose the machining operations

Machining directions include CNC machining, lathing, milling, turning, boring and drilling. Select the operations required by the part geometry and finished dimensions. Keep that selection with the chosen material and casting requirements instead of treating the operation menu as a mandatory sequence for every part.

Set the material-specific surface

Galvanizing, surface passivation and polishing are treatment directions. Agree the actual treatment for the selected steel and define the finished surface to be accepted. Connect that surface requirement to the dimensional criteria and roughness measurement basis for the same component.

Prepare the custom casting brief

Provide the actual grade, component drawing and cast-versus-machined dimensional requirements together. Include the selected operations, surface condition and acceptance needed after the proposed work. These inputs define the custom steel casting request and allow the investment-casting/lost-wax option, CNC scope and finished criteria to be agreed for one actual part.
