OEM precision investment-casting enquiries include sand casting, machining, welding and forging as manufacturing directions. Metal choices include stainless steel, steel, brass, copper, aluminum and iron. Plastic requests need their actual component and manufacturing route defined separately.
Manufacturing stages and machining selection
Process directions include mold making, casting, deburring, machining and surface treatment. Machining references are broaching, drilling, milling, turning, tapping and wire. Define the actual wire operation and select the operations needed for the component. Agree the grade, geometry and production scope together.
Casting and machined-dimensional criteria
CT4–CT8 is the casting-tolerance reference. The machining-tolerance reference is ±0.02mm. Identify the covered dimensions, manufacturing stage and measurement acceptance for the actual part. Keep the casting and machining criteria with their relevant features in the drawing.
Surfaces and governing references
Surface choices include polishing, passivation, sandblasting, zinc plating and black oxide. Select the finish for the actual metal and define the covered areas and required condition. Standard families include ISO, GB, DIN, JIS, ANSI, BSW, ASTM, ASME, BS, API and EN. Agree the applicable document and grade for the enquiry.
Quality-document and inspection scope
IS09001:2015 and TUV are certificate references whose actual document identity and scope need agreement. Identify the component checks and accepted dimensional and surface results. Provide the grade, drawing and duty with the selected manufacturing, tolerance, finish and inspection requirements.
