OEM custom metal casting and fabrication enquiries include lost wax investment casting, with zinc, stainless steel and aluminum among the material choices. Carbon steel and brass are also available for material-specific review. Select the actual grade, component geometry and manufacturing route before defining the operations and finished condition.
Choose the route and process combination for the material
Additional process enquiries cover die casting, CNC machining, injection molding and stamping. Agree which operations are appropriate for the selected material and component design. Treat that process selection as part of the custom enquiry, rather than assuming every operation in the menu is required for the same metal part.
Assign the casting class and roughness requirement
CT4–CT6 is the casting-tolerance reference. The roughness reference is Ra1.6–3.2, with the measurement unit and controlled surfaces to be confirmed. Identify the dimensions and surfaces governed by these requirements so the component has a defined dimensional and surface acceptance basis for the selected route.
Select the finish and communicate the geometry
Surface-treatment choices include polishing, sand blasting, powder coating, painting and plating. Select the required treatment for the actual material and identify the surfaces that need it. STP and STEP are supported drawing inputs for the custom component enquiry. Use that geometry together with the grade, selected operations and finish requirements when agreeing the part's manufacturing and acceptance scope.
