OEM agricultural machinery castings combine a lost wax investment-casting direction with CNC-machined work. Quenching and tempering, shot blasting and assembling are offered operations. Begin with the particular agricultural component's material, geometry and working duty so the selected operations serve its actual fit and functional requirements.

Agricultural component and material definition

Choose the material grade required by the part and identify the dimensions controlling its fit within the machinery. Standard families named for requests are ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS. Select the governing document and edition for that grade, with the actual properties and dimensional acceptance defined for the agricultural component.

Heat cycle and machined geometry

Quench-and-temper work carries a resource reference of two sets of mesh-belt furnaces. References for machining resources are 50+ machining centers and 80+ CNC machines. Agree the resources and work assigned to the part, including its grade-specific heat cycle and the features requiring CNC machining. Define the accepted condition of those features after the chosen operations.

Blasted surfaces and assembly scope

Identify the final surface condition required from shot blasting on the agricultural casting. For assembly work, establish the included component relationships and the fit that must be accepted. Keep these requirements connected to the selected material and machined geometry.

Full visual and gage checks with selected NDT

The casting inspection direction covers 100% visual and 100% gage checks, with MT, UT, RT and CMM also named. Establish the applicable areas, method coverage and criteria for the agricultural part. Agree the required records and project quantity with the completed OEM component definition.
