Custom precision steel casting requests include lost wax and silica-sol directions. Lost-foam parts and die casting with machining and surface treatment are further directions to discuss for the actual component. Select the manufacturing route and material together with the drawing and accepted finished requirements.
Material and route for automotive parts
Ductile iron, stainless steel and aluminum alloy are material directions for automotive-part enquiries. Identify the grade and actual part geometry before agreeing the casting process. Define the working conditions, dimensions and surface condition required for that component. The selected route needs its own dimensional and inspection acceptance.
Drawing definition and sample request
Casting tolerance is agreed for the customer drawing. Identify the controlled dimensions, required surface result and any machining scope so that a sample can be assessed against the intended component.
- 2D definition
- PDF and CAD formats support the dimensional drawing. Identify the current revision and the requirements it controls.
- 3D geometry
- IGES and STEP are format directions. Agree the model, drawing and selected operations for the requested sample; samples are offered.
Standard and document selection
AW, ASTM, EN and ASME are standard references for the enquiry. ISO9001:2025, TS16949, RoHS and REACH are document references requiring the actual governing edition and applicable scope to be confirmed. Agree those requirements with the selected material, route and component acceptance before defining the sample evaluation.
