Automotive casting inquiries cover aluminum-alloy and stainless-steel part directions, with OEM/ODM service for the selected component. Lost-wax investment casting, sand casting and die casting are manufacturing directions to select against the actual part. CNC finishing adds a further dimension to the agreed production scope.

Material and route for the automotive component

Start with the component's required material and geometry, then establish the casting route that applies to that combination. Aluminum alloy and stainless steel remain distinct material choices for the inquiry. The selected component's automotive function, mating interfaces and operating conditions should inform the grade and route discussion, so the production scope addresses a defined part rather than an unspecified group of processes.

CT5–CT7 and CNC-finished dimensions

The casting-tolerance reference is CT5–CT7, alongside CNC finishing. Assign the casting tolerance to the relevant dimensions and distinguish them from dimensions requiring CNC completion. Standard-family references include GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS. Identify the applicable designation and actual grade when agreeing dimensional acceptance, so material and process requirements can be assessed together for the same automotive component.

Satin, mirror or zinc-plated surfaces

Surface directions include satin, mirror and zinc-plated finishes. Color can be natural or follow customer requirements, with the chosen finish assigned to the actual material and required areas. Describe the intended appearance and the surfaces involved in assembly or contact, then settle their acceptance criteria. Bringing material, route, CNC dimensions and finish into one component definition makes the OEM/ODM inquiry more specific.
