Service TypeOEM/ODM Custom Manufacturing / Prototyping
Develop an aluminum gearbox housing around the interfaces and acceptance needs of the intended assembly. The OEM/ODM service supports custom manufacturing and prototyping, with A380, A360 and A413 aluminum requests, high-pressure precision die casting, grinding and leak-testing directions.
Set the housing geometry and aluminum grade
The selected grade and the housing drawing should describe the same component. Identify the interfaces and surfaces that locate the housing within the gearbox assembly, together with any features requiring finished dimensions. Wider material choices include zinc, aluminum, magnesium and stainless steel, with the appropriate route to be agreed for each requested part.
Relate grinding and custom tolerances to the interfaces
Grinding can be discussed for the gearbox housing where the design requires it. The tolerance is ±0.05 mm, and custom tolerance requests are supported. Identify the relevant surfaces and agree their dimensional acceptance, so the casting and any finishing operations address the requirements of the actual housing rather than an assumed uniform tolerance.
Choose the surface route for the component
Mill finish, anodizing and powder coating are available finish directions to select around the chosen material. Specify the required surface areas and appearance alongside the housing's functional interfaces. Custom size, material and finish requests keep those choices connected to the component being manufactured.
Give inspection and leak testing defined criteria
The service provides 100% inspection, with CMM, projector, caliper and salt spray testing among its quality-control methods. Agree which checks and leak-test criteria apply to the housing and its intended duty. STP, STEP, IGS, PRT and X_T geometry files support the enquiry, linking the inspection discussion to the same 3D housing definition.
