Steel automobile-part enquiries can combine lost wax investment casting with CNC machining, quenching and tempering. Shot blasting and assembling are further process directions. Define the steel grade, component geometry and finished condition before selecting the operations and acceptance for the actual part.
Plan the heat-treated steel condition
Quenching and tempering use two sets of mesh-belt furnaces as a heat-treatment capability reference. Agree the treated condition required for the chosen steel and automobile component. Keep the heat-treatment requirement connected to the machining and assembly plan so the final part acceptance addresses the intended condition.
Select inspection for the component
The inspection directions include MT, UT, RT, 100% visual inspection, 100% gauge inspection and CMM. Agree which methods and acceptance criteria apply to the actual steel casting and finished dimensions. The available inspection menu should support the component's requirements rather than imply that every method is automatically used on every part.
Match machining capacity to the part plan
Machining resources include 50+ machining centers and 80+ CNC machines. Discuss the required operations against the actual part geometry. Coordinate the CNC work with the heat-treated condition, shot-blasted surface and any assembling required by the component plan.
Choose the applicable document and scope
Standard references include ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS. Select the actual grade document and requirements applicable to the automobile part. IATF16949 and ISO14001 are certification references with scope to confirm. Provide the drawing, steel grade, treated condition and inspection criteria together to establish the proposed casting and CNC work.
