OEM steel components for mining machinery combine precision lost-wax investment casting with CNC machining. Quenching and tempering, shot blasting and assembly are part of the processing scope. Define the particular mining component and steel grade so these operations address its finished dimensions and assembly requirements.

Connect heat treatment with the machined assembly

The heat-treatment setup includes two mesh-belt furnaces for quenching and tempering. Machining resources include 50+ machining centers and 80+ CNC machines. These are processing-resource references; agree the required heat-treatment condition, machined interfaces and assembly scope for the actual steel part rather than using equipment counts as a finished-part performance rating.

Assign visual, gauge and other inspection methods

Inspection covers 100% visual checks and 100% gauge inspection, alongside MT, UT, RT and CMM methods. Select where the latter methods apply and what each must establish for the component. Define the visual acceptance criteria and gauged dimensions separately from the locations, criteria and records required for other tests.

Apply the relevant steel standard and surface criteria

Technical standard families include ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS. Identify the applicable numbered reference, material requirements and finished tolerances for the mining-machinery component. Specify the intended shot-blasted surfaces and assembly interfaces as part of that acceptance plan. The chosen grade, heat condition, dimensions and inspection requirements provide the basis for evaluating the finished casting.
