OEM custom brass or bronze parts support machinery applications through investment- and die-casting directions. Surface-treatment choices include passivation, electroplating and polishing. Sample service and 100% testing are available for evaluating the requested casting, with the actual component and its acceptance requirements defined for the chosen alloy.
Choose brass or bronze with the casting route
Select the actual brass or bronze grade and identify the machinery component it will form. Agree a compatible investment- or die-casting route for that grade and geometry. Define interfaces and tolerances for the part so the material and process choice relates to its intended machinery service.
Specify passivated, plated or polished areas
Choose the applicable surface treatment for the selected alloy. Identify the areas requiring passivation, electroplating or polishing and describe the desired result for those surfaces. Keep the finish requirements connected to the component's final dimensions and interfaces rather than using the finish name alone as an acceptance criterion.
Define what the sample and finished tests must establish
Use the sample service to agree how the selected brass or bronze part will be evaluated. Specify sample geometry and surface acceptance in relation to the intended machinery component. The 100% testing scope also needs the actual test methods, checked characteristics and acceptance criteria agreed for the finished parts. Identify any records needed to assess those results against the component requirements.
