Surface treatmentPassivation
Custom stainless-steel handles for high-speed train applications are offered in 304/316 material directions through lost-wax investment casting. Size can be customized, with passivation as the surface treatment. OEM support and samples are provided, and the minimum is one piece.
Handle geometry within the train assembly
Select the actual stainless grade and define the handle's size, shape and mounting interfaces. Those dimensions should address the intended assembly and its required component acceptance. The custom casting inquiry can then relate the handle geometry to the material and the role it needs to serve in the train.
IT4–6 and the drawing dimensions
The tolerance reference is IT4–6. Agree the applicable standard and the drawing dimensions to which the selected requirement applies. Define the dimensional acceptance for the actual handle and its interfaces so the reference has a clear scope within the finished component.
Passivation and the service environment
The stainless-handle direction includes oxidation and corrosion resistance, with passivation available for the surface. Relate those requirements to the intended exposure and train-assembly conditions. Agree the required surface condition and application acceptance alongside the selected grade, keeping the finish review specific to the actual handle.
Samples and inspection for the custom handle
Samples and OEM support can form part of the one-piece inquiry. Inspection covers 100% of these custom train handles, with the material, dimensional and surface checks agreed for the component. Define those checks against the actual drawing and assembly requirements when reviewing the sample and subsequent custom work.
