Custom metal parts combine lost wax investment casting with CNC precision machining for OEM or ODM projects. Material choices include stainless steel 304, 316 and CF8, alongside carbon and alloy steels, with dimensions and surface treatment tailored to the required component.
Choose the material designation for the part
State the exact grade, governing standard and material condition in the component specification. The 304, 316 and CF8 stainless choices should each be identified by the requirement used for the actual part. Include the service environment and the interfaces that influence material selection, so the proposal addresses the intended component.
Set CT4–CT6 against GB/T 6414
Casting tolerance is CT4–CT6 per GB/T 6414, with the class, edition and applicable dimensions to be agreed on the drawing. Mark the interfaces that require CNC finishing and give their separate acceptance limits. This lets the casting and machining review distinguish the relevant part conditions and the measurements needed for each.
Select the surface by area and appearance
Shot blasting, mirror polishing and passivation are surface-treatment options that can be specified for the selected material. Describe the areas receiving treatment and the surface condition required for acceptance. A drawing or agreed finish reference can connect the appearance and mating-surface requirements to the supplied component.
Define application and documentation requirements
Enquiries can concern auto parts, valve fittings, mechanical hardware or medical equipment, with each project needing its own fit and functional acceptance. Identify the exact JIS, ANSI, API, BS, DIN or GB requirements relevant to the material or part. For ISO9001, ISO14001 or IATF16949 documentation, confirm the current certificate holder and activity scope alongside the component requirements before approving the OEM or ODM proposal.
