Drawing-led metal-component requests can include casting or forging, optional machining and polishing. One-piece orders are available, with 100% inspection/CMM and a 0.01mm tolerance direction to be applied to the selected component's dimensions.
Choose the exact alloy before the route
Aluminum requests name A356, 6061, 7075, 319, 356 and 380. Specify the exact grade required and agree its casting or forging route for the actual design. A high-temperature-alloy request needs its own material specification and processing scope rather than being treated as the same configuration as an aluminum part.
Identify which areas need machining
Machining is included where needed by the component requirement. Mark those areas on the drawing and distinguish their finished dimensions from the agreed cast or forged condition. This makes optional processing follow the part's geometry instead of becoming an assumed operation for every surface.
Set the polished condition and dimensional check
Polishing is an available surface direction. Define the required final appearance and identify the dimensions used to accept the completed part. Allocate the 0.01mm tolerance value to the applicable areas, then agree the inspection/CMM coverage and criteria for those dimensions.
Build a complete one-piece requirement
Combine the drawing, selected grade, route, machining allocation and polished-surface requirement with the order quantity. Use those details to define the finished component and its acceptance. If ISO9001:2015 documentation is needed for purchasing, establish the applicable holder and scope for the agreed supply requirement.
The useful starting point is one defined alloy and geometry. Keeping the process and inspection requirements with that design makes the casting or forging inquiry easier to evaluate.
